hello feel good.
My first biochem test of the semester is done! AND I feel good about it! I've been stressing because well, biochem is a ton of work and it's my major so if I don't do well in it, that would suck. Anyway I feel good about the test and I think I did pretty well. B+ for sure. Ok, well I'd hate to be TOO confident, but I did pretty well. 10 minute trainer is coming along swimmingly and I'm feeling better. OH and my meeting with my professor went well too. He was acting like our meeting was going to be a serious deal and said I needed to take a week to prepare for it, annd it turned out to be nbg. He basically told me that I've been working really hard all semester and had nothing to show for it but a bunch of failed experiments (so true, nothing was working like we wanted it to). He said he felt bad that all of my hard work was going unrewarded so he wanted to switch my project to something else so I can get a paper published. I'm going to get a paper published! So you can google "Lauren Villegas+metal organic frameworks" and read a REALLY interesting paper on tiny crystal structures that store hydrogen in them. I'm making you want to read it aren't I? Oh well, at least I'll be able to write on my resume that I'm a co-author to a paper that one day might solve the energy crisis in America. Next items on the list, genetics quiz in the a.m. and figure out when I can graduate, where I can finish my final credit hours (cross your fingers for some UTA), who my thesis advisors will be (I need 5!!), and how I can launch myself overseas into a Spanish speaking country doing charity work of some sort. Oh but I'm not stressed anymore... ready set go.

SIDE NOTE to the previous blog
My last blog was way too long so I didn't want to make it even longer with an edit. If my blog followers don't pick up in the next 2 months or so (and I suspect they won't) then I will post my before and after pictures. I only dare to post the most embarrassing pictures ever taken of me on the internet for the world to see because the world could care less and only 5 people follow me, all of which are people that I wouldn't care if they saw me naked (though I'm sure they would care and would seriously prefer not too). Now, goodnight forreals.
feeling better & you can too
I cried it out today on the phone with my mom and on the couch under a blanket with my bestie Katelin. I love her. We've been in a weird funk lately. She's been homesick and jealous of me and Aimee, and I've been homesick and jealous that she's going to Spain, on MY dream study abroad trip that I told her about (that I can't go on because my dumb sister is getting married). Ok so that's not the only reason we can't afford it, but that's the reason my dad gave me. But we had planned on going there together and I wish I could, but alas I do not have $15,000 to spend on a semester in Spain.
Anyway. Here's a sales pitch/suggestion/product that I'm endorsing simply because I tried it and absolutely loved it (and I think everyone wanting to tone up should hear about it because it honestly works). I've been doing 10 Minute Trainer by Tony Horton and for the busy gal on the go who wants to be healthier and get into shape this is PERFECT. It's a series of exercise videos that are only 10 minutes long. And let me tell you they work you the heck out in those 10 minutes. It's so intense and they go by so slow and so fast all at the same time. It's amazing. The talking is a little cheesy and the moves a little silly but I just put on some workout music and I'm good to go and I don't even care that the moves are weird because they work you out so well. By the end you'll hurt so good (yes I said hurt so good). The package if you buy it from the company is like $80 but I bought mine brand new on Ebay for $29.99 (free shipping too). It didn't come with the exercise band you need but I bought a package of 3 (different resistances) at Wal-mart for $15 and they're the exact same ones that come in the "10 Minute Trainer Deluxe" package (in which they claim the exercise bands are a $30 value). Anyway, if you want to work out but don't have a lot of time you should do it because it really works, and if you want you can always do multiple videos a day (it recommends up to 3, but no more because otherwise you'll be too sore!). Hooray for getting healthy!
Also, if you are starting any type of work out routine I seriously recommend taking "before" pictures of yourself. Get a close friend to take your front, back, and side pics in a sports bra and small shorts and to take your measurements. It's a serious wake up call as to what your body really looks like. I see my naked body everyday but I never really SAW it until my roommate (Aimee) and I took our pics and measurements. It's not that I was like oh my gosh I'm fat, but more like wow I seriously need to tone up because I look sluggish and unhealthy. WOW long post. I hope it was helpful to at least one of the 5 people that read my blog (as of today I have 5 blog followers instead of 4, and 4 of them lived together in courtyards so I think it's pretty safe to say my blog has really taken off and I will probably be the next blogger turned celebrity, just saying). Gnight.

I am getting worse at updating, but better at homework. A good trade off I think. Lately I haven't been wanting to post because I can't say what I want to say because everything I want to say is mean or crabby. I'm tired of Nebraska, I'm tired of all the vanilla people in said state, and I'm tired of the weather. The only thing that's keeping me mildly sane is my roommates, but when your best friend is also missing the wonderful southwest and going insane, it's hard to stay grounded and be thankful for what you have. Katelin's been having a really hard time with the transition back to Nebraska and I'm trying to be helpful and the perfect friend but I am seriously falling apart with this whole mess. Ahh. I can't handle much more of this damned place. I never could understand why people like it so much. If you're from Nebraska I understand. Maybe it's because all of my closest friends here (most) don't really like it either and they all wish they were somewhere else. Maybe we can all go somewhere else together. Like Texas. I miss my SEESTERS. I'm stressed to the max. I'm having problems at work that may end up affecting whether or not I graduate from the honors program. My thesis is on the line. My body is completely broken out in eczema due to the stress and it itches like crazy. I just want to see my family. I know I complain about not being with Kyle enough but I don't know how much longer I can take of this. I've done it for 2.5 years already. I'm over it. I'm ready to be done with this damned state (and good heavens I hope I never have to come back). Thank goodness for church in 8.5 hours. Lord knows I need it.

Jan 13, 2010.
Quiz 1 was successful. Quiz 2 also went well. Quizzes 3 & 4 will have to wait till tomorrow so I can procrastinate some more. But really, I don't think it should be called procrastinating if you finish it within 24 hrs of it being assigned (which is how long all our quizzes are up for save the Friday ones).
Next item of business. I have none. Hmm... I want to get p90x 10 minute trainer. I start back to work tomorrow, but I won't be doing the 10 hrs a week I'd hope. I'll probably only squeeze by with 6 hours a week. So, less money + more stuff to buy = I'm on a strict budget and a big cheapo this semester. Really I've always just been able to buy whatever I want (within reason) and now I can't. News flash, reality has finally hit. I already need to figure out roommates for next year, what already!? I got an email today and I have to have paperwork and deposit done by February 1st. Too soon! This would not be a problem except that my most favorite roomie of all (Katelin) might be going to Spain next semester, and might not be going to Spain next semester, so she needs to decide soon so she can find a place to live too. Okay, I'm done. You don't care about my daily dribble that much especially when I don't have much to say.
OH YEAH! I almost forgot but God is so good and he's really watching out for my family.

I tried to make this a link but I'm technologically challenged so it didn't work. But it's definitely worth watching and less than a minute so it won't take long.

SIX times a week.
Hello all.
I'm back from my blogging break but I suspect my blogs will be shorter and fewer this semester due to my INTENSE schedule. When I signed up for 5 hrs of physics, 4 hrs of genetics, and 4 hrs of biochem I don't think I knew what I was getting myself into. Especially since I'm taking the "easy" biochem432 class and we have SIX quizzes a week!! One online every Monday, 1 in class and 2 online every Wednesday, and 2 online every Friday coming to a grand total of 70 for the semester. So you'd think hey, well they must not count for very much right? Wrong. All together the quiz points count as much as two test grades. Not Fun. I'm about to take my first online quiz today (she gave us extra time for Monday's quiz since it was the first day, how nice..) once I finish procrastinating, and I have my first in class quiz tomorrow so I'll let you know how they go. I'm currently trying to memorize the chemical structures for all 22 amino acids by tomorrow. blech.
On a better note. My break was amazing (save loosing my camera somewhere in kyle's mess of a car that he can't seem to clean out so he can find my camera for me). I spent much needed time with my family and with my Kyle. I'd post pictures, but well, I don't have my camera :( I got a lot of great and thoughtful gifts for Christmas, spent the night in for New Years, and then started a busy week of Kyle seeing from Jan 2 to Jan 8. Oh so I just want to say that I only saw Kyle for 9 days this break (not even full days at that). Lame. But I did enjoy the time we spent together and we had a wonderful date afternoon/night this past Thursday and it was much needed. Between our busy schedules and large families Kyle and I can never quite seem to find time alone so it was really nice to go out to lunch, shop, see a movie, go to dinner, and then watch bama walk all over Texas. Also, I must say that last year I marked on my calender every day that I saw Kyle and so when December 31st came around this year I counted up all the days I saw him from Jan 1, 2009-Dec 31, 2009. It was 105. Yep. That's it. 105 days. or 28% however you want to look at it. Appreciate what you have cranky couples of the world because I can promise you it's probably better than only seeing your honey for 285 days (roughly) in the last 2.5 years. Okay, enough complaining. Time for some good news.
I LOVE MY NEW ROOMMATE DEARLY AND WE SHALL HAVE LOTS OF FUN THIS SEMESTER!!
Not to sound like a brat, but I am so glad I'm getting the roommates I deserve. I've had 2 years of roommate hell and now I can finally enjoy living with three beautiful people I love. Cheers.

Dec. 23, 2009
I'm too busy to blog. I'm sorry bloggers of the world but I only blog when I don't have a life, or when I want to procrastinate on homework. Now that I'm home and happy and get to see Kyle and my seesters I am too busy to blog. Last update (if you can call it that) for awhile. Enjoy Christmas. Yes I refuse to say "happy holidays" because no one would give a crap about any "holidays" if it weren't for Christmas. so MERRY CHRISTMAS!! :)
p.s. Kyle made a trip to the guess store and I got some awesome gifts. Also, my grandmother is amazing.
