Everything is falling into place.
My week has continued to be wonderful and I am itching to tell everyone the wonderful news I heard about on Sunday which was only made better by more news I learned about Tuesday. However, I must wait.
I can tell y'all that I am officially interning at the Center for Community Health at UNT Health Science Center (UNTHSC) in Fort Worth this summer. I could not be happier. If you remember any of my summer posts from last year you already know that I love working there and my boss Dr. Cardarelli has taken me under her wing and been a real mentor to me. It is because of her and my time at CCH that I am officially pursuing my MD/MPH! MPH is a masters of public health. Most Texas schools offer the degree in conjunction with an MD with no additional years tacked on to my schooling! Which is the best part about this program. I can get both in 4 years.
Oh and I submitted my down deposit for my trip to Mexico this summer. Yes! If everything goes as planned I will be spending 4 weeks in Mexico in late July, early August learning medical Spanish, taking culture classes, oh and doing clinicals in health clinics around Guadalajara!
I am so blessed and continue to be amazed at all the wonderful opportunities God has placed in front of me.
p.s. My best friend Ben from back home also laid some great news on me yesterday. This week has been a constant high.
